What I can do for you
My passion is building crawlers and search engines.
In particular, I specialize in building vertical search engines like Indeed.com, Homethinking.com, ModernSearch.com.au and Enormo.com (all companies I've worked with).
I've also worked on products such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence to improve its search capabilities.
Depending on what you need to launch your product successfully, I can

What tools I use
For searching, Lucene and Solr primarily.
For crawling, I've been using Flexile, my custom crawler instead of Nutch.
I like simplicity and often find myself using PHP for web GUIs, preferably the popular CodeIgniter PHP framework.

Kelvin Tan was a valuable contributor to the Maya's Mom site,
specifically our search product. The site wouldn't be what it is without
him. Kelvin worked quickly, communicated well and exceeded every
milestone and task we had. Kelvin's insight and expert knowledge allowed
