On consulting gigs, I generally handle the backend search and crawling bits, and leave the frontend to the PHP wizards. On this project I'm on, that's not really an option, hence diving in feet first to Drupal. If you guys ever need any Solr help, feel free to drop me a mail. I'm more than happy to give my tuppence..
